Ingredient highlights

Herbal skincare ingredients with essential oil bottles and dried flowers in a flat lay

Non-nano zinc oxide

A mineral UV filter that sits on the skin’s surface to help protect from UVA/UVB—ideal for sensitive skin.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is derived from the meat of mature coconuts and is composed primarily of saturated fats, particularly medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs). It is renowned for its moisturizing properties and contains a high concentration of saturated fats that help to reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL). Its natural SPF properties, combined with its antioxidant content, help shield the skin from harmful UV rays.

Cacao

Cacao, a minimally processed form of cocoa, is rich in antioxidants and nutrients that enhance skin health. Cacao is derived from the seeds of the Theobroma cacao tree, a plant recognized for its rich flavors and myriad health benefits. Unlike cocoa, which undergoes extensive processing, raw cacao retains its natural compounds, making it a superior choice for those seeking the full spectrum of its benefits. Cacao plays a crucial role in boosting collagen production, which is essential for maintaining skin firmness and reducing fine lines. Procyanidins found in cacao support collagen synthesis, enhancing skin elasticity and reducing the signs of aging. Theobromine, a compound unique to cacao, helps scavenge reactive oxygen species caused by UV exposure. This protective action contributes to the skin’s ability to recover from sun damage and supports wound healing processes.

Rasberry seed oil

Raspberry seed oil offers hydration, anti-inflammatory support, and antioxidant protection, making it a strong ally for dry, sensitive, or aging skin. It helps moisturize and strengthen the skin barrier while soothing redness and irritation. Its rich antioxidant profile, including vitamin E and essential fatty acids, supports elasticity. Raspberry seed oil offers natural UV absorption, particularly in the UVB range, which is the wavelength most associated with sunburn. It can also absorb a portion of UVA rays, giving it a modest, broad‑spectrum effect.

Carrot seed oil

Carrot seed oil is valued for its antioxidant, antimicrobial, and skin‑protective properties, making it a useful addition to topical skincare. It helps support smoother, healthier‑looking skin thanks to its ability to nourish and protect the skin barrier. Its antimicrobial and antifungal activity may also assist with managing blemish‑prone or irritated skin.

Jojoba oil

Jojoba oil is a liquid wax extracted from the seeds of the jojoba plant, a hardy shrub native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It closely resembles the skin’s natural sebum, which helps it moisturize effectively and support a healthy skin barrier. Jojoba oil can act as a gentle but effective skin protectant thanks to its moisturizing, anti‑inflammatory, and barrier‑supporting properties. It helps seal in hydration and strengthens the skin’s natural barrier, which can reduce dryness and irritation. Its antibacterial and antioxidant activity may also support wound healing and help calm inflamed or acne‑prone skin. These combined effects make it a versatile option for protecting and maintaining healthy skin.

White beeswax

We source our beeswax from farms that practice ethical and sustainable beekeeping that focuses on leaving bees enough wax and honey to maintain hive balance, which allows beeswax to be collected with minimal stress to the colony. White beeswax is a naturally refined wax made by honeybees, valued for its purity and long history of use in cosmetics and topical preparations. It provides strong waterproofing by forming a breathable barrier on the skin, helping lock in moisture while protecting against environmental exposure. Its binding properties give skincare products structure and stability, allowing balms, salves, and creams to hold their shape without synthetic additives. As a natural, antimicrobial, and skin‑friendly ingredient, it supports gentle, protective formulations that emphasize minimal processing and clean composition.

What we formulate without

Because great sun protection shouldn’t come with a long list of compromises.

Oxybenzone & octinoxate

We choose mineral filters instead of these common chemical UV filters.

Added fragrance

Fragrance can be a trigger for sensitive skin—so we leave it out.

Harsh drying alcohols

No “squeaky clean” finish—just comfortable, wearable protection.

Unnecessary fillers

We keep ingredients purposeful and performance-driven.

Ingredient FAQ

Quick answers to the questions we hear most about mineral SPF and our formulas.

Is your sunscreen reef-safe?

We use mineral UV filters and avoid oxybenzone and octinoxate. “Reef-safe” isn’t a regulated claim, but we aim for formulas designed with ocean days in mind.

What does “non-nano” zinc oxide mean?

It refers to zinc oxide particles that are not in the nano size range. Many people prefer non-nano minerals for peace of mind and skin comfort.

Will mineral SPF leave a white cast?

Mineral filters can look lighter on some skin tones. We focus on blendability and offer options designed to wear well for everyday use.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

Everyone’s skin is different, but mineral SPF is often a great choice for sensitive skin. Always patch test if you’re reactive.

Do you use essential oils?

We keep formulas simple and avoid added fragrance. If an ingredient is included, it’s there for function—not scent.
